This small, badly damaged head is a copy of a sculpture signed by the artist Stephanos and preserved at Villa Albani. Stephanos, a pupil of Pasiteles, belonged to a famous school of artists operating in Rome in the first century B.C. and specialized in creating works in the classical tradition.
