The Museum owns the most striking part of a Roman copy of the bronze statue created by Myron around 450 B.C. The study of the athlete’s figure, captured at the moment of maximum tension before the throw, is reflected in the finely rendered anatomical details of his hand. The fragment was found in Rome, at the Baths of Caracalla.
